Difficult Questions

If you're seriously investigating Christianity, you probably have some pretty big questions. How can a loving God allow suffering? If God is so powerful, why was Jesus necessary? What do Christians really think about sex and sexuality? It's perfectly normal to be asking these questions, and the last thing we want to do is shrink away from answering them.

From September, we hope to be running regular Lunchbars that cover some of these questions in a relaxed environment, and more will be said on that closer to the time.

The organisation supporting CUs nationwide has developed a website called bethinking.org which covers some really hot questions, such as:

  • The evidence for Christianity
  • How do we know Christianity is right out of all the religions?
  • Isn't science more rational than faith?
  • How can I believe in God when there's so much suffering?
  • What's wrong with sex before marriage?

Most of these are audio resources, but well worth a listen if these are the sorts of questions you have.

Also, some written articles on similar topics can be found at this website, including:

  • Does God exist?
  • Can we trust the Bible?
  • Isn't Christianity really boring?
  • Can you prove it?
  • Isn't it better to be sceptical?

Still not satisfied? If you'd prefer to chat through your questions with someone in person, please do get in touch!
